View Online Files (PDF, PPT, TIFF) via Google Docs Viewer


Google Docs Viewer allows users to view online files–such as pdf, ppt, tiff–without having to download them.

Application Site: http://docs.google.com/viewer

Steps:

Step-1. Go to the Application Site.

Step-2. Enter the document URL in the field provided. You have an option to write down a link text.

Step-3. Press “Generate Link”.

Step-4. Three types of links are generated, namely: for email or IM, an HTML tag for link, and an HTML tag for embedding. You can also view the link directly from the current page. [1]

Notes:

[1] You will not be asked to click on the terms of agreement. You are presumed to have agreed to the terms, of which a link is provided for you to review.

[2] This presumes you already know the URL of the file.

[3] Example:

Go to the USCIS website to view the general requirements to “Petition for Alien Relative“. Scroll down to section Special Instructions. Two PDF files are available for download. Instead of downloading the files, you can view them online via Google Docs Viewer. To do this, copy the URL of the first PDF link ( http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I130instr.pdf ) and paste in Google Docs Viewer. Follow instructions above.
