Who has time for this? Apparently a lot of Berry users. Search for Brickbreaker and you will find forums for score comparisons and the agonies each user has to endure with level 16 (aka U) and its sibs. I myself spent extra hours in bathrooms, restrooms, airport lounges, subways, buses, cars, parks, bed, cubes figuring out a way to live for another level — in short, I’m addicted to the game. Let’s start then.

Level 1

Bricks with letter Y (in white font) indicate bricks that releases special functions for the blue paddle. This is the easiest level. There’s no reason to lose a Life here. You only have three Lives to start with. In most cases, you’ll get one Life from this level. Remember, the strategy for Cycle 1 is to get at least 20 Lives in preparation for the much faster Cycle 2. A Cycle means 34 levels of  brickbreaking.

We shall discuss the different special functions as we go along.

Level 2

The red arrow is my regular path for shooting the ball. Moving the ball sideways allows for more contacts with the bricks. In this path, for example, at least three bricks are going to be hit. This level may give you two Lives.

Level 3

As I’ve said, I like to shoot the ball sideways to get maximum contact with the bricks in shorter time. Bricks with white letter Y generates special functions for the blue paddle. The lower-right Y sometimes doesn’t give power. Be careful with the function Flip. If it hasn’t shown in the previous levels, it will in this level.

Flip is a function you must avoid in the first two cycles. It doesn’t give any benefits for you but confusion and waste of Life.

    its funny that you always point it left. for me i always point it right and it seems to work. there is a trick in level two where if you hit certain bricks at a certain time, you get 2 life-s back to back. I’m still trying to learn the sequence of it.

      @20somethingirl, you’re right: right also works. It was probably in the later levels that I found starting to the left safer and more manageable. Then I made it a habit to simply start shooting the ball to the left.

      Let us know once you get the combo-technique for the back-to-back “lives”. :)
