User Loraxkari opens the conversation by asking Seesmates, Who do I vote for? Loraxkari is a die-hard Kucinich, but may go for Obama, because he’s anti Hillary. And he has to leave soon to vote.
That now created a conversation involving loraxkari, photoboy, otir, davidjacobs, and christine with 12 videos in a span of less than an hour. It is like YouTube with the reply function but with much less “noise.” Seesmic is a conversation focused service. Seesmic is similar to Twitter in its Following-Follower function. In fact, you can also see realtime Twitter feeds from the user within Seesmic. And like Twitter, there’s a feature to subscribe to reply-feeds.
Seesmic is fun and interesting. Interesting in a way that, unlike Twitter, you will get to see who’s behind those words.
I have taken shots of the application. They are described below.
The Home screen is easy to navigate and tidy. Highlight shots include 1) the conversation starter; 2) the users’s profile including user’s Twitter account and a button to opt to Follow (that is, include the user in your friends’ list) the user; and 3) current active conversations. A full screen shot is also attached below in thumbnail view.
Full screen view: (click to see full size)
The video conversations look like this. You can scroll up and down using your mouse or by clicking on the up or down arrow.
So far Seesmic is available in 10 languages.
You can exit a conversation and go to the Public Timeline to check out on more active conversations.
I recommend to use this application. You can also add me as a friend; user name: carlobm.
Currently Seesmic is by invitation only. You can try it out by signing up for their alpha test.
